Marilyn Sachs: Hello, my name is Marilyn Sachs, but I need to tell you about my name because before I was married, my name was Marilyn Stickle. In those days, women changed their names when they got married. Stickle is kind of a tough name to live with because so many things rhyme with it, like pickle, like tickle, like fickle. When I met my husband, I thought I liked him, but I needed to know what his name was before I even had any serious intentions. I said to him, what did you say your last name was? He said Sachs. There are a lot of things that rhyme with Sachs, but it's not quite as bad as Stickle. Incidentally, I had a French teacher who used to call me Ms. Trickle, so I was in a hurry to get married. At any rate, that name helped me, I suppose, in one of the books that I wrote called Veronica Gans because everybody makes fun of her and her name because you can rhyme a lot of things with Gans. Thank you. Bye-bye.
