Cheryl Hudson: Hi, my name is Cheryl Willis Hudson. I was born Cheryl Au Val Willis. I was named by my mother, and I think Cheryl is derived from cherie in French. I don't know, but my mother taught French, and I think that's where it came from. My middle name, Au Val, is after my aunt, who was a nurse midwife, who helped deliver me. And my last name was Willis, so one of my friends say, "You got a strong personality, so your name is Cheryl Will is." Last name is Hudson, is my married name from joining with my husband, Wade. So I'm Cheryl Willis Hudson, and that's Cheryl spelled C-H-E-R-Y-L. That's the best way to spell it.
