Book Descriptions
for Animal Lullabies by Lilijana Praprotnik Zupancic
From The United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY)
All of the fourteen animals presented have their own distinct lullaby. Most of the lullabies describe animals preparing to bed down, although the owls are preparing for a time of fun. Elephant has broken his bed by jumping on it. The baby mice nibble the moon until it is out of sight. These short, soothing poems are perfect read-alouds that will lull little ones to sleep. Lila Prap was Slovenia’s nominee for the 2006 Hans Christian Andersen Award for illustration and was a 2007 Astrid Lindgren Award nominee. pwc

From the Publisher
What kind of lullabies do animal parents sing to their young? Lila Prap's imaginative text and art give us an idea of just what an owl lullaby, a fish lullaby, or a chicken lullaby might be like.
