Book Descriptions
for Trucky Roads by Lulu Miller and Hui Skipp
From Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC)
Trucky Roads is a truck guy. He doesn’t just see trucks on the road, he sees all kinds of trucks on the road. Trucks with specific jobs, like dump trucks, garbage trucks, and fire trucks. Trucky also imagines a wide range of trucks, like tow trucks and toe trucks, as well as monster trucks and tiger trucks. Whimsical illustrations with tie-dye hues bring humor and definition to Trucky’s lyrical classifications of actual trucks and invented vehicles. Occasional side commentary adds additional levity to this welcome addition to the picture books about transportation canon.

A Kirkus Reviews Best Picture Book of the Year
The city is a busy place and home to many kinds of trucks in this “gloriously bright, inventive world on wheels” (Kirkus Reviews, starred review) tale about all the trucks on the road—big, small, real and imagined!
Trucky Roads sees all kinds of trucks, and when he imagines the kinds of trucks that could be, there is no stopping him. From a cloud roller to a comet mixer, the sky is the limit when you dream!
